Pitigliano is a characteristic and particular village, perched on a tufaceous rock cliff, immersed in the valleys of the Tuscan Maremma, in the heart of the Tufo area, Pitigliano is a true wonder, of ancient origin, the territory has been inhabited since the time Etruscan-Roman, the town still jealously guards ancient traditions.

Many of these traditions still relive today in its main events. During the year, Pitigliano hosts numerous events and festivals dedicated to the most ancient traditions and typical local products.

It starts on March 19, with the Torciata di San Giuseppe, a traditional appointment with the bonfire during which the puppet of the innacciu – winter – is burned as a propitiatory sign for the beginning of Spring, then continues with Cantine Aperte, the most important event dedicated to wine, throughout Italy, the last weekend of May, with tastings and visits to vineyards and cellars. The event, promoted by the Wine Tourism Movement, promotes one of the most loved typical products in Italy, wine, a journey to discover Italian excellence, Pitigliano will be able to visit two of the most important wineries in the area. The unmissable Infiorata, to celebrate Corpus Domini, during which the streets of the town are colored with drawings made of flowers and leaves, the Feast of the Farmer, Goblets of Stars, on the evening of 10 August with tastings of wines and typical products for the streets of the village, the County Festival, Settembre DiVino, a delightful festival of the cellars of Pitigliano and finally the appointment with the Christmas celebrations.
